Kate Anderson is a Vice Chancellor’s Principal Research Fellow at RMIT University’s School of Computing Technologies, where her work focuses on making Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging digital technologies more accessible, inclusive, and useful for people with disability. Her research is grounded in authentic co-design and lived experience engagement, working closely with disability communities and cross-sector partners to ensure meaningful impact.
Kate has a clinical background as a speech pathologist, with specialist expertise in cerebral palsy, neurodiversity, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). She brings this practice-based perspective into her research and teaching, educating students across disciplines on responsible AI, assistive technology, accessibility, user experience, and inclusive design.She is a strong advocate for embedding consumer voice in innovation processes and advancing equitable technology design across health, disability, and digital systems
