Ben is the Emerging Technology and Accessibility Manager at Guide Dogs NSW/ACT. He is responsible for finding, influencing and implementing technologies that benefit people with low vision or blindness into Guide Dog’s services. He is also responsible for ensuring a high standard of accessibility across the organisation, and supporting external accessibility related advocacy and training.
Ben has extensive experience assessing and teaching blindness related assistive technology and is totally blind himself. This everyday practical exposure, combined with professional expertise and a slightly obsessive interest, has enabled him to provide unique accessibility consultation that goes beyond official standards.
